Foundation
In our technology-oriented society the importance of early education in natural sciences and technology is growing. The non-profit-making foundation “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists' House”) supports educational specialists with further training offers and learning materials to assist them in awakening the inquiring minds of young children at day care centres and primary schools.
The educational-didactic foundation is based on the findings of the project
"Natur-Wissen schaffen" (Mastering the Natural Sciences) by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation, which is led by Wassilios E. Fthenakis, Professor of Developmental Psychology and Anthropology.
The Foundation's Mission
• The foundation “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists' House”) permanently and sustainably embeds the daily interaction with natural sciences, mathematics and technology in day care centres and primary schools throughout Germany. By doing this they are campaigning for better educational opportunities of young boys and girls in the aforementioned subjects.
• With materials and ideas the foundation provides educational specialists practical support by means of ongoing further training in strong local networks. Parents and other education partners are involved.
• The “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists' House”) promotes enthusiasm for natural science phenomena and technological issues and makes a long-term contribution to the securing of young future talents in the corresponding professions.
• At the same time the “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists' House”) provides the experience gained by others abroad. Germany is thereby establishing itself as a location for education and sciences.
